Months Later

It has been so long since our last entry.  As you'll read, much has happened since Jameson had his surgery nine months ago.  Life got a bit busier and the urgency was thankfully lifted once his cataract was removed.

Many of you continually ask how he is doing--he is great!  Here's a mini glimpse at our life:

-Twelve months since starting monthly infusions.
-Nine months since surgery (that went perfectly).
-Nine months since opening a second pool store.
-Eight months since having our fourth son.
-Eight months since finishing up our first year of homeschooling.
-Six months since starting second year of schooling: 2nd grade and Kindergarten.

And just like that--baby boy is crawling, Will is sitting still for longer periods of time, Elliott is turning in to a great reader, Jameson is enjoying life eye-drop free and we're now starting the slow wean off of his infusions.  Those once-dreaded infusions have done the job so far, with minimal effects on his lifestyle or known health.  We're so thankful that we can say his eye is in remission and instead of infusions every four weeks, we received the green light to stretch them to every six.

His disease remains an up and down roller coaster.  He deals with minor complications from his meds: skin infections, rashes, etc., but handles them like a trooper! We continually try not to sink too low with the lows, or become elated with the highs, as we've learned these moments are always fleeting.  Such is life!  We praise Him for all of the moments that we are given.  :)
